F.Y.I. ON A F.Y.I. SPOTLIGHT

KeeLee Tomlinson is the Pub-
lic Relations and Media Repre- sentative at the Florida Straw- berry Festival. She began her career in the Fair industry while interning at the Strawberry Festi- val while attending the University of South Florida, and was “thrilled” when they offered her a full time position. KeeLee was born and raised in Plant City where “never
missed a year coming to the Festival” and where she grew a fondness for the event. When she was younger, she got the opportunity to dance at the Festival and in parades while she was a Showcase Dancer with a local studio. Ms. Tomlinson received her Bachelors in Business Mar-
keting and Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Florida. KeeLee has attended the Flor- ida Federation of Fairs Convention for the last two years since she has been with the Strawberry Festival. “Being new to the industry it has been so refreshing having the opportunity to speak with individuals from other Fairs and learn from their experiences,” said Tomlinson. KeeLee also received the International Association of Fairs and Exposi- tions Zone II Young Professionals Initiative (YPI) Scholar- ship to attend the IAFE Convention in Las Vegas in 2011.
“I walk through the Festival Grounds each year as an em-
ployee and can’t help but think how blessed I am to have a job that not only helps so many create memories with friends and family, but these grounds also bring me back to so many wonderful childhood memories,” says Ms. Tomlinson. If you ask many people in our industry, I think they would have the same sentiments as KeeLee when asked about their hometown fairgrounds!
