Outdoor play area at LIW

The Outdoor Play Area at ths year’s LIW show is set to provide all visitors with a huge array of attractions, play and fi tness products to try out. The area will be accessed via a fully

functional zip line provided by Innovative Leisure who will also operate an example of its Water Wars water balloon game. Waterwalkerz will also feature with a

range of infl atable games and outdoor gym equipment alongside Extreme Adventure’s high ropes course, Play Bus Company’s busses, Autoculture Distributions’ go karts and theming from Snow Business.

6 T is year’s IOU programme will include both practical demonstrations as well as educational seminars

IOU will return to LIW this year with another fantastic education programme. Sessions will run on Wednesday 19th and T ursday 20th September and will be presented by inde- pendent gym and health club owners, giving insight gained from real experience. Seminars open with ‘Practical ideas that

work for the UK Independent Operator’, with a panel of operators with years of experience and ideas that are easy to implement for any club owner. Clubs will take away quick-win ideas that will produce quick-win results! T is will be followed by ‘Making money for your club from the `other stuff ’’. In today’s

market of diminishing returns due to increased competition and physical activity alternatives, clubs have to maximise the revenue that they generate from non-membership money. T is session will off er innovative secondary spend ideas that generate profi t and also provide bet- ter service to existing members. Following that will be ‘Easy ways to use

the internet to make more money’, broad- ening the online horizons of independent operators. On Thursday the programme will close with ‘T e great debate: Strengths/ Weakness/Opportunities/T reats of being an Independent Operator in today’s climate’.
