ABERDEEN BUSINESS SCHOOL - MBA Programme
Based in Aberdeen, a global energy hub, Aberdeen Business School, part of Robert Gordon University (RGU), is a leading provider of professional education. The achievements and continuing success of graduates in their careers is a true mark of the high quality and recognition given to the postgraduate and undergraduate programmes delivered at the University.
“Top Modern University in the UK” (The Sunday Times, 2012 and The Times, 2009, 2010 and 2011). One of the most powerful benefits of the Aberdeen Business School MBA, which is accredited by AMBA (The Association of MBAs), is its potential to enhance career progression and to widen employment opportunities. The University offers a general MBA which attracts individuals from across a range of industry sectors and enables a diverse international cohort to share experience and lessons learned from managing others. This is particularly so with an AMBA accredited MBA where all students will have a minimum of three years’ management experience and often very considerably more. The general MBA has allowed alumni to enter new industry sectors.
A degree from Robert Gordon University is as near to a guarantee of a job after graduation as you can get, (The Sunday Times University Guide, 2012).
RGU has a good record for graduate employment (95.2% of graduates are employed or in further education within six months of graduating) and is proud to be recognised as
22
In recent years Aberdeen Business School has also developed a specialist MBA in Oil and Gas Management which has proved very successful, both in attracting applicants and in meeting the needs of employers in this dynamic industry sector. For, contrary to general economic conditions, the energy industries are very much in a period growth and there is an
acknowledged leadership gap which employers are keen to fill.
The newest addition to the Aberdeen Business School MBA suite is the MBA Information Management, a unique course for those managing the information systems and services that are core to the effective operation of organisations.
Students can choose to study full- time where they will attend classes on campus for one year, executive part-time where students will attend some weekend workshops over the course of three years, or fully online via the University’s supported distance learning mode of delivery. Some of the highlights of the course include a ten day Leadership and Strategy workshop where students from all streams and delivery modes come together to network, socialise and learn from a range of business simulation exercises and guest speakers. Another key feature is a consultation project where students will be given the opportunity to work alongside industry on a real life project.
