Bepensa drinks to success with topVOX
Bepensa, a producer and distributor for Coca Cola beverages in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, has been achieving higher accuracy rates in its distribution centre in Merida, Mexico since the implementation of the speaker-independent Voice solution topSpeech-Lydia from topVOX.
Juan Carlos Dupinett, corporate logistics manager for Bepensa, commented: "The decision to select the Voice-recognition system topSpeech-Lydia was based on a variety of reasons; such as quality, performance, price and flexibility. topSpeech- Lydia seamlessly integrated with our WMS, and thanks to the speaker-

s a leading beverage distributor for the Yucatan, Bepensa Bebidas must constantly focus on improving its logistical services. With hundreds of
delivery trucks going in and out each day, it is imperative that all trucks are loaded with the proper orders for on-time delivery. It is for this reason that Bepensa has adopted topSpeech- Lydia from topVOX to improve efficiencies in the picking process.
Aside from its easy use, topSpeech-Lydia was chosen for its easy integration into Bepensa’s warehouse management system, helping employees with their everyday tasks through the use of Voice technology. topSpeech-Lydia runs on an independent speaker system that recognises the language and not the user. Precise information is transmitted to employees whose function is to prepare orders for delivery based on the inventory information in the warehouse management system (WMS).

Dupinett elaborated: “The idea caused skepticism and surprise in the beginning because we thought that this technology was

The hands-free, eyes-free operation has also dramatically increased accuracy, efficiency and safety, and users of the system especially appreciate the natural speech output versus the commonly used digitised solution."

Up and running quickly topVOX reports that a specific advantage of the speaker-independent system is that no training is required, so operators are up and running immediately. This, states the company, makes it an ideal system to use; even for temporary personnel during peak periods. Dupinett continued: “The idea of this project originated from observing the time employees were losing in handling and checking paper pick lists, which was approximately 20 per cent of each working day.”
Operative manager Mickey Guerrero Kim added: “One of the excellent qualities of this system is that it doesn’t require an exhaustive training session to start. The picker is only required to learn a series of basic commands and is ready to work in a more precise and
