JAN JOINS JUST YOU: TV presenter and former BBC newsreader Jan Leeming has become the first brand ambassador for singles specialist Just You. As well as joining some of Just You’s tours worldwide, the former I’m a Celebrity... participant will give feedback and advice to the operator’s customers online and via direct mail, emails and e-shots. Leeming’s most recent appearance on TV was exploring India for the BBC programme The Real Marigold Hotel. Leeming, 74, said: “There is so much of the world to see and if like me you are a solo traveller it can be incredibly daunting heading off on your own.”

Fred Holidays plans to add agent portal

Fred Holidays is to develop a travel agent portal later this year following the overhaul of its website.
The operator, which is
celebrating its third anniversary, has just revamped its website and upgraded the travel agent section. The site now has its first
holiday search facility, allowing users to search by destination and holiday types. Blogs and consumer reviews
have been added online alongside sample packages and links to the operator’s specialist brands, which include Fred Expeditions and Fred River Cruises. The agent page, which features specialist product guides, contains more content and aims to be more user-friendly, with easy-to-download sales materials. Marketing manager Aisleen
Marley said the operator hoped to launch a separate agent portal before the end of the year that would include product and offers that agents could send out with their own branding to clients.
