Take advantage of any of the three complimentary tours on offer designed to showcase Manila’s key highlights.
The Discover, Explore and Experience Intramuros tour takes visitors into the heart of Manila’s historic walled city, built by the Spanish in the 16th century. The Halls of Power and Heritage tour includes visits to the National Museum of the Philippines and the official residence of the President. Meanwhile, food lovers and shopaholics can take the Makati Mall of Asia Shopping and Culinary tour, including visits to the city’s oldest Chinatown, the Divisoria shopping district and Asia’s largest mall, the Mall of Asia.
Sunday 6
The Routes Registration, Diary Advice and Networking area opens at 1pm at the Manila venue, the SMX Convention Centre. The formal business of the event starts at 2pm with the Routes Asia Strategy Summit. Combining panel talks and speakers, the sessions will feature discussions on both the opportunities and problems facing the industry in the key Asian markets, including the Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ Open Skies policy and the value of aviation to the region. Delegates can then relax from 6pm onwards at a Welcome Reception at the Mall of Asia hosted by the Philippine Department of Tourism.
Monday 7
The Networking area opens at 7.30am in time for the first face-to-face meetings, which start at 8.30am. Lunch is served at 12.35pm, allowing for further informal discussion, before the official meetings resume at 2pm. The evening will once again provide an opportunity for delegates to socialise on a more informal basis with a networking evening starting at 7.30pm. The event is being held at The Blue Leaf Filipinas, an events centre based in metro Manila that showcases the best in modern Filipino architectural design. The event will also include the Routes Asia 2016 Marketing Awards, which will see the region’s top airports honoured following an airline vote.
Tuesday 8 The Networking area opens at 8am in time for an 8.30am start to the
last day’s face-to-face meetings. Lunch at 12.35pm will be sponsored by the Routes Asia 2017 host, Okinawa Prefecture, during an official handover ceremony. The final meetings will end at 5.40pm at which time the event will officially close.
