Jet2holidays vows to pay agents for flight add-ons

Jet2holidays aims to start paying commission to agents whose customers go online to book flight add-ons.
At present, customers can log
into a Manage My Booking portal to enter their passport details and print boarding passes, but have to go through agents to select seats, meal and baggage options. Alan Cross, Jet2holidays’ general manager for the trade, said agents were less good at selling seat allocations and inflight meals than the company’s direct booking and call centre channels. The group is now looking
to offer commission by next summer to agents who direct their customers online to select options. Rates are yet to be set but Jet2holidays and
Jet2.com commercial director Steve Lee said a family of four selecting seats and a hot meal on each leg could earn

Hurtigruten will expand its range by introducing sailings on the Amazon and in Canada in 2017. Fram will undertake the line’s first-ever inland

But Cross insisted the flight add-ons would be bookable via a dedicated website not linked to Jet2holidays’ direct booking website.
Also new for 2017 will be sailings in Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada. In Greenland, Hurtigruten will introduce calls at
Scoresby Sound, the world’s longest fjord. Fram will also sail through the Panama Canal on
the Exploring the Land of the Inca itinerary from Valparaiso to Puerto Limon, in March 2018. The line’s UK managing director, Magnus Zetterberg, said: “We’re no longer the Norwegian specialist – we’re
a destination specialist and an expedition specialist.”
