emtron, the British manufacturer of RFI/EMI shielding gaskets, materials and components has launched a flame retardant, low smoke, low toxicity EMC shielding gasket. Tested and approved to the international standard UL94V-0 by Underwriters Laboratories for flame retardancy,

E344902. The material is a nickel coated graphite loaded into silicone elastomers, product code SNG- FR,
the gasket provided a highly electrically conductive path between mating flanges of an electronics equipment enclosure giving a high level of RFI/EMI shielding. Nickel coated graphite in silicone is the most cost effective of all the electrically conductive silicone elastomers and its performance in many applications will exceed that of silver based products due to its more aggressive surface finish providing a very low surface contact resistance. The material can be supplied as an extruded strip in various profiles, “O” rings or flat die cut gaskets. Electrically conductive pressure sensitive adhesive can be applied to flat gaskets to aid assembly.

Patented cable gland simplifies installation, maintains IP68 rating
ylec-APL has announced that its newly-patented Kwik Fix range of cable glands features a locking mechanism that requires access from one side of the panel only – without special tools - yet still achieves IP68 sealing. Kwik Fix cable glands also have a wide -20 to +100degC operating temperature range so they suit many applications and conditions. Installation is a simple three-step process.
H First, the gland’s base is inserted
through the entry with its mounting foot placed up against the internal wall. An external locking nut, turned anti-clockwise, secures the gland in place and forms the IP68 seal. The cable can then be installed in the normal manner, with the cap nut tightening in the conventional clockwise direction.

raft Data are experienced providers of mobile thermal printers for a host of diverse applications from mobile POS, courier delivery receipts to parking fine tickets. Their 2 WSP-R240 model is specified as their semi-rugged option, with its double-moulded case and protective rubber coating it is capable of withstanding a drop onto hard flooring from a height of 2 metres, it also offers a good level of protection against dust and dirt and is IP45 certified. The printer supports Windows, Android and iOS operating systems and incorporates Bluetooth and serial interfaces as standard, options include a USB interface plus an integrated triple track magnetic card swipe reader for credit or debit card transactions. A simple belt clip to attach the printer to its user is also supplied so users are free to roam their environment, very handy when printing on the move. To complement the WSP-R240 is the WSP-R241 which is marketed as the 2” entry level product within the mobile printer range. Whilst not as rugged as its WSP-R240 brother the printer’s single-mould case still offers a good level of protection withstanding a drop of 1.5 metres onto hard flooring. Bluetooth and a USB interface is standard with Windows, Android and iOS operating systems supported. As with the WSP-R240 the R241 can also be supplied with a fully integrated triple track magnetic swipe card reader.
Both printers are extremely
compact and lightweight measuring just 79.5 x 114.3 x 43.5mm and weigh just 228g including the Li-ion battery pack and paper roll. A print width of 48mm (384 dots/line) and a high resolution of 203 dpi (8 dots/mm) plus print speeds of up to 100mm/sec enables fast, high quality text, graphics and 1 and 2 dimensional barcodes to be printed with ease.
