ance of remote anchorages, uninhabited wilder- ness and interesting ports with yacht-friendly marinas. Some boaters prefer to hop from one marina to the next, while others anchor out most of the time but stop into a slip for a week once every month, perhaps to charge batteries, take on provisions, join dock parties or soak up shore amenities. Mexico’s marinas offer better rates by the


week or month. They will require proof of liabili- ty insurance, because they offer welcome servic- es such as port check in, boat sitting, hull clean- ing and minor repairs in the slips, hot showers, coin laundry, secure parking, chandlery items, nearby restaurants, taxi stands and handy guide to local services. Some marinas occasionally pro- vide barbecue parties on the docks or in the cruisers’ lounge. Here’s the most recent contact list of full-
