iDealwine secures investment from LM Holding
iDealwine and LM Holding, a company owned by May-Eliane de Lencquesaing, have just signed an agreement whereby LM Holding takes a stake in the capital of iDealwine in order to accelerate its international growth. Both partners share a vision on the evolution of the grand crus market and their strategic association aims at creating a world's leadership in the online auction and fine wine market. A budget of 2 million euros will support this ambitious plan.
This partnership brings into iDealwine's capital a major figure of the wine industry: May-Eliane de Lencquesaing. May-Eliane has been in charge of the family vineyard Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Pauillac for 30 years. This partnership between May-Eliane de Lencquesaing and the directors and founders of iDealwine.com is intended to consolidate the leadership position of the website iDealwine.com, an electronic platform where wine lovers can buy and sell their top wines, and estimate the value of their cellar.
iDealwine.com, a company set up in 2000 and already present in France and in Asia, launched an online platform helping amateurs to value their own cellars as well as to buy and sell valuable bottles. Offering both online auctions and fixed price sales (bottles with set prices sourced directly from wine estates or merchants), the company quickly established itself as a major player in the online market. iDealwine.com successfully brought the fine wine market into the 21st century introducing 100% online auctions through its subsidiary INTERNATIONAL WINE AUCTION. In addition, iDealwine.com set up a wide range of services for wine connoisseurs and professionals: an information database, a recognized wine rating system, a range of fine wine indexes grouped under WineDex, as well as a variety of market analysis tools.
Over 350'000 amateurs worldwide are now members of iDealwine.com.
Arthur de Lencquesaing - grandson of May-Eliane de Lencquesaing - who worked into the world of wine and Champagne firstly in Asia, then in Europe within the LVMH Group, has joined iDealwine to manage the international expansion from iDealwine’s new office located in London.
