SENIOR PROMOTION AND TWO SENIOR HIRES AT OGIER FIDUCIARY SERVICES
IN JERSEY Ogier Fiduciary Services in Jersey has announced the promotion of Charles Le Cornu to Director and welcomes new Directors Simon King and Jon Barratt to the Funds and Real Estate teams respectively.
Charles Le Cornu joined Ogier in 2006 and has 10 years experience in the offshore financial services industry specialising in investment fund accounting and administration. Charles has particular experience with Private Equity, Venture Capital and Mezzanine Funds. Prior to joining Ogier in 2006, Charles trained with KPMG and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Simon King joins the Funds team from State Street where he most recently held the position of Head of Client Services (EMEA), having previously managed Private Equity Administration Teams in Jersey. Simon also brings with him a wealth of Real Estate experience having worked for M&G Real Estate where he was Director of Transaction Management and Director of Property Legal Services. Simon holds a Diploma in Company Direction with the IoD.
Jon Barratt joins as a Director to lead the Real Estate team and to act as a Director for a number of client companies. Jon has 25 years of management experience, 7 of which were offshore with HSBC corporate banking in Jersey with particular emphasis on offshore structured corporate real estate clients. Jon is ACIB qualified with the Institute of Financial Services.

JONES DAY ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP APPOINTMENTS IN SOUTHERN U.S. AND LATIN
AMERICA The global law firm Jones Day has announced the appointment of several partners in the Southern U.S. and Latin America to new leadership positions, effective June 30, 2014.
Lizanne Thomas, who has served as Partner- in-Charge of the Atlanta Office since 2008, and is the head of the Firm’s global corporate governance team, will oversee the Firm’s operations in the South, including Atlanta, Dallas, and Houston, with responsibility for more than 300 lawyers practicing in those offices. Ms. Thomas is a nationally prominent corporate governance counselor who has practiced law in Atlanta for her entire 30+ year career, with Jones Day and its local predecessor firm. With roots as an M&A lawyer, she "practices, teaches, and lives" corporate governance, participating in more than 100 board meetings per year as counsel to a number of public companies, and has lectured on governance to leading business organizations, companies,
and universities throughout the world. Ms. Thomas is a member of the Board of Directors of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. (NYSE: KKD)
Luis Riesgo, who serves as Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s São Paulo Office and has since its opening in 2011, and leads the Firm's Latin America Practice, will oversee the Firm's operations in Miami, as well as in São Paulo and Mexico City. Mr. Riesgo joined Jones Day when the Firm opened its Madrid Office in 2000, and served as its Partner-in-Charge between 2006 and 2010, before moving to Brazil. He also has had a major role in the opening of the Firm's Mexico City Office and in its growth in recent years. Mr. Riesgo is regularly cited in Chambers, Legal 500, and other publications as among the leading lawyers in Latin America in corporate and M&A work, and he is considered among the top foreign lawyers in the region.

BAKER & MCKENZIE Daniel Rosen has joined Baker & McKenzie's Global Tax Practice as partner, boosting the Firm's capabilities representing multinational clients in tax controversies and litigation matters.
"During his 16-year career with the IRS, Dan was responsible for litigating some of the largest and most complex cases before the United States Tax Court," said Thomas Linguanti, chair of the Firm's North America Tax Practice. "His significant trial experience and governmental insight will be invaluable to our clients. We are fortunate that Dan has decided to join us and couldn’t be more pleased to welcome him to the Firm."
As a special trial attorney with the Internal Revenue Service, Office of Chief Counsel, Mr. Rosen gained considerable trial experience litigating dozens of cases over a 16-year span. During his career, he worked closely with the US Department of Justice, Tax Division on several major cases and advised IRS Large Business and International Division executives, managers, and examiners on tax controversy matters, including settlement initiatives. In
addition to his courtroom experience, Mr. Rosen has substantial knowledge of alternative dispute resolution processes and techniques.
