19 TOP ANTITRUST TRIAL LAWYER LAWRENCE BUTERMAN TO JOIN LATHAM


& WATKINS Latham & Watkins LLP1 is pleased to announce that nationally-recognized antitrust trial litigator Lawrence Buterman will join the firm as a partner in the Washington, D.C. and New York offices. He joins from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division’s Networks and Technology Enforcement Section, and brings exceptional experience both from inside government and private practice to the firm’s integrated global competition team.

Qualified in 1990 Nigel has established a strong reputation as a regulatory lawyer in the UK specialising in all aspects of regulatory enforcement, in particular health & safety, environmental, trading standards and licensing. In addition Nigel has specialist expertise in advising on regulatory matters for farming communities.

K&L GATES WELCOMES RETURNING RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK HEALTH CARE PARTNER


K&L Gates LLP has added Gina Bertolini as a partner in the health care practice. An associate with K&L Gates from 2003 to 2009, Bertolini rejoins the firm from the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS), where she served as associate vice president and deputy general counsel.


As the lead lawyer for UMHS, Bertolini advised the health system on matters including state and federal laws, compliance, privacy, the Affordable Care Act, scientific research and discovery, strategic affiliations, and medical education. Prior to that, she served as an assistant general counsel with the University of North Carolina (UNC) Health Care System, as well as legal director for the UNC Physicians Network, a community-based physician organization owned by UNC Health Care. Bertolini focuses her practice on a variety of


health law issues, including representing hospitals, health care systems, and adult care homes on litigation-related, licensing, and regulatory issues.

DLA PIPER CONTINUES EXPANSION OF REAL


ESTATE TEAM Stephen Malley and Jonathan Northey will join DLA Piper as the latest lateral partner hires into the firm's Real Estate group. They both join the firm from RPC. Their arrival at the firm follows the recent hire of Richard Hopkinson-Woolley, Laurence Rogers and Neville Wright from BLP.


Stephen is a non-contentious construction lawyer whose practice focuses on development and development finance work. Stephen was head of the non-contentious Construction & Projects team at RPC, leading on various projects including the £600 million Francis Crick Institute and £200 million East Road redevelopment.


Jonathan who was a property development senior associate at RPC, specialises in mixed-use and residential projects, and recently advised


the developer on the £250 million Greenwich Square scheme, the first London project under the government's public land initiative.
