CWO3 David K. Farmer, USA (Ret), dodged leeches in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam, in 1969; was wounded once; and made it back home alive. But, he notes, he was still too young to vote or drink alcohol. Submitted by Farmer.

Military Officer’s
