First cycle of chapter grants distributed US Lacrosse awarded 22 grants to support local lacrosse development efforts as part of the US Lacrosse Chapter Grant Program. The awards, which typically range from $500 to $2,000, support chapter initiatives. “We appreciate the tireless efforts of our chapter volunteers who are dedicated to growing of the game,” said Steve Kirr, director of regional development at US Lacrosse. Sport Development Apply for Gold Stick status
Coaches, parents and administrators: is your league ready for recognition as a

Leagues committing to this process will work with US Lacrosse and industry experts to achieve benchmarks for excellence across multiple operational standards. Mobile Coach 3.0
The US Lacrosse Coaching Education Program (CEP) tool, Mobile Coach, gives coaches access to more than 200 men’s and women’s lacrosse drills, complete with diagrams and videos on your computer, iPhone or Android device. The Mobile Coach 3.0 version features a new user interface. It gives coaches to the ability to diagram, save, and share your own plays and drills. Info at

Summer reading: free online courses The US Lacrosse Sport Development Department offers all members fi ve free courses at
uslacrossecourses.org: Men’s Fundamentals of Coaching, Women’s Fundamentals of Coaching, Men’s Game
Offi ciating, Women’s Game Offi ciating (emphasis on rules), How to Make Proper Contact (men’s only). The courses are funded in part by membership dues to US Lacrosse and donations to the US Lacrosse Foundation.
Sports Science and Safety Experts provide members with insights US Lacrosse and MedStar Sports Medicine partnered on a live health and safety webcast last month that focused on ACL injuries and head injuries. Medical experts, including several members of the US Lacrosse Sports Science and Safety Committee, provided the most recent research data and information for both of these injuries. The presentation can be accessed at

Events USL, IWLCA boost offi cials at Nat'l Tournament US Lacrosse, with sponsorship from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), awarded 27 scholarships to women’s offi cials to subsidize the cost of traveling to the US Lacrosse Women’s National Tournament, presented by Harrow and the Heather Leigh Albert Foundation. “I’d like to thank the IWLCA for its support and the offi cials for volunteering their time and expertise at the National Tournament,” said Lucia Clark, senior manager of the offi cials education program at US Lacrosse.
