Public spaces abound with diverse modern sculptures that interpret Newport’s past. Perhaps the cutest is the life-size piggy behind the Market Hall that celebrates over 700 years of markets in the city. The most prominent is the 40ft red steel wave on the riverfront, representing the steel and sea trades that are integral to Newport’s story.
