Avio SpA (Turin, Italy) was founded in 1908. For more than a century, it has played a crucial role in tackling the technological and business challenges of designing, developing and producing high-performance aerospace propulsion components for both civil and military aircraſt. To make sure it remains in the forefront of develop- ing advanced manufacturing technology to support this effort, Avio is expanding its laser capabilities. Te multiaxis Laserdyne 430BD from Prima Power Laserdyne LLC (Champlin,
MN), was chosen by Avio to help open new aerospace design and manufacturing possibilities for laser cutting, drilling and welding. Te 430BD with the latest Beam- Director laser beam positioning capability (BD3Y) and rotary table is a six-axis system that provides the means not just to create new manufacturing processes, but also to improve existing ones.
Italy’s Avio SpA has spent more than a century building a reputation in aerospace manufacturing. Staying abreast of technology is one way it keeps up.
Avio SpA will use the Laserdyne 430BD laser system equipped with a fiber laser and a rotary table to process components for aerospace engines.
