Alphamusic, written by composer and meditation expert John Levine, claims to induce ‘alpha’ brainwaves which are believed to improve both health and wellbeing. There are 17 themed Alphamusic albums in
the collection aimed at helping various issues; from anxiety and insomnia to stress and lack of concentration. The music is said to cause a change in the brain’s rhythms which helps both body and mind to heal in a way similar to the eff ect of deep transcendental meditation. Levine composed his fi rst Alphamusic CD
in 1984, based on the centuries-old Pentatonic and Lydian musical scales.
