BC’s ENERGYMANAGEMENT PROGRAM (EMP) had a very successful year. The EMP Team
saw the addition of two new members. In addition to Lorina Keery, Energy &EnvironmentalManager, a Business Energy Advisor – focusing on small businesses and buildings – and an Energy Specialist – focusing on natural gas projects – were brought on board…Daniel Klemky and DouglasWong respectively. The EMP Team’s main objective is to assist members with their energy management initiatives, whether it’s a large building complex or a tenant space within. From start to finish the EMP Team helps members through every step of energy management.
BOMA e-EnergyTraining T
HE BOMA e-EnergyTraining for Building Operations program, created by BOMA BC, continues to be offered across Canada by all BOMA locals.
BOMA e-EnergyTraining teaches building operations personnel how to easily identify energy reduction opportunities and better understand basic energy principals. Building Operators also learn to develop strategies to encourage stakeholders to save energy. The online format allows students to learn at their own pace and convenience, at work or at home.

This year also marked the addition of a new offering under the EMP, the BOMA uTrack program.
Launched in December 2012, BOMA uTrack is an outstanding utility monitoring program that utilizes the PUMA online system developed by local engineering firm and BOMA member, Prism Engineering Ltd. BOMA uTrack is a very cost- effective program available exclusively to members to better track, monitor and analyze their energy and water consumption. BOMA has arranged for preferred member rates when signing up for this service.
Our TotalWaste Management (TWM) program offers a one-stop, cost effective recycling service for BOMA members at preferred rates. Since 2010 BOMA BC and Urban Impact have been providing custom solutions to meet all BOMA members’ recycling needs.
