Thank You For Being a Part of the Team

“We at USA Shooting are proud of our athletes’ shooting accomplishments, as well as the way they represented our country, organization, sport and industry on the Olympic world stage and international competitions throughout the year,” said Buddy DuVall, executive director, USA Shooting Team Foundation. DuVall emphasized that the shooting sports industry is instrumental in helping USA Shooting build this tradition of success.
“Quite simply, USA Shooting exists as a result of the benefi ts received from its association with many of the industry’s top companies and organizations. The direct and indirect support that is provided through these relationships—the team behind the team—furthers our ability to continue the winning tradition; a tradition wouldn’t
that be
possible without this generous support,” DuVall said. This support is not taken for
granted by the USA Shooting athletes.
While most countries
support their Olympic teams with government funding, that isn’t the case in the United States. USA Shooting’s annual budget of $4.4 million comes primarily from three sources: the U.S. Olympic Committee, direct mail contributions and funds raised through the USA Shooting Team Foundation. The foundation generates support through corporate sponsorships, fundraisers, grants and individual gifts programs.
Supporting Champions With ammunition and target costs associated with each pull of the trigger, shooting is one of the most expensive Olympic sports. USA Shooting Team members fi re millions of rounds of ammunition annually. They train year-round for national and international competitions such as World Cups, World and National Championships and various selection matches and team training camps, all in preparation for the Olympic Games.
usa shooting excels with support of shooting Sports industry For over a decade, Winchester
Ammunition and ELEY have been the exclusive ammunition sponsors and suppliers to the USA Shooting Team. Since 1999, Winchester has provided over 10 million rounds of AA shotshells manufactured to international specifi cations specifi cally for the team. Winchester shotshells have been used by the U.S. Team members to win seven Olympic medals in the past three Olympic Games.
ELEY supplies U.S. rifl e and pistol teams with select lots of .22 TENEX, along with testing services to match these lots of ammunition to each athlete’s equipment. ELEY TENEX has been part of fi ve Olympic medal- winning performances since 2004.
H&N (Haendler & Natermann),
exclusively imported by Pyramyd Air, supports USA Shooting’s air rifl e and air pistol disciplines with millions of pellets for training and competition. USA Shooting Team members
also enjoy a close relationship with Krieghoff, Pardini, Perazzi and Walther Competition Shooting, all of which support and supply athletes with competition fi rearms specifi c to their events. These manufacturers also
support the USA Shooting Team Foundation with in-kind fi rearms for fundraising initiatives, demonstrations and local club use.
Over the years, fi rearm manufacturers have found creative ways to support the team. Since 2004, Kimber Manufacturing has led the way through the sale of the Kimber Team Match II pistol. Kimber’s partnership has generated over $1 million in support of the USA Shooting Team through sales proceeds from 10,000 Kimber Team Match II pistols. This year, Ruger teamed up
with TALO Distributors to produce the fi fth limited edition rifl e in a series of limited edition rifl es and pistols, with proceeds benefi ting the team. This partnership has raised over $400,000 for USA Shooting.
GunBroker.com provided a unique opportunity for industry companies to support the team through online auctions. Twenty-three donated items from 17 companies—Turnbull Manufacturing, Hornady, North American Arms, Smith & Wesson, Colt Manufacturing, US Firearms, Chiappa, Diamondback, Kimber, Winchester Ammunition and Freedom Group brands
“Every bit of support helps and I honestly cannot thank everyone enough for putting the time, eff ort and dollars into our USA Shooting athletes. Everything from clothing to bullets to travel expenses has helped us get to where we are today and we would not be a successful shooting nation without all the wonderful support.” Jamie Gray
