Peak Alert means lower usage

C

hoctaw Electric is asking members to help lower the peak as low as possible by reducing their electricity usage between 2 pm and 8 pm daily.

That’s the time of day when system-wide usage tends to spike, creating what is known as a system peak. That peak is important because it will determine what your co-op—and eventually you—must pay for wholesale power for the coming year.

CEC will post peak alerts on Facebook and the CEC website.
