Optional Ethernet or RS232 inter- faces make the G9SP controllers easy to integrate with modern control sys- tems, allowing the I/O and status con- dition to be easily mapped to the machine control system, providing a seamless interface between safety and control on your machine. Programs can also be stored on removable memory cassettes for easy transfer between controllers – an important benefit for series production applica- tions or in case of replacement. The controllers feature function- block programming with certified function blocks pre-loaded for all common applications including, for example, non-contact switch, single- beam sensor and safety light curtains. User-defined function blocks are also
supported and are fast and easy to develop and test, providing complete flexibility for the user.
The programming software supplied by Omron for use with G9SP con- trollers features an intuitive user inter- face and provides step-by-step guidance through every stage of the design process. Also incorporated are a simulation tool that allows the func- tioning of the safety system to be fully evaluated and proved before the system goes live, and a powerful diagnostic system for rapid troubleshooting. Offering faster, easier integration than hard-wired safety systems, as well as greatly reduced set-up time, G9SP mod- ular software-based safety controllers from Omron comply fully with the requirements of EN ISO 13849-1 (PLe).
