Molded In-line Fuse
A
mphenol Industrial Global Operations, a global leader in interconnect systems, now offers a molded in-line fuse that helps protect photovoltaic (PV) systems from ground fault current damage. Used by PV system engineers, EPCs, solar contractors and design engineers, Amphenol’s HelioFuse is rugged and easy to install. HelioFuse was developed to address the need for a cost-effective solution to ground fault protection in PV systems without the need for a combiner box to houses the solar panel’s fuse links. Its molded construction provides weather tight housing that prevents moisture from getting into the fuse and further protects it from harsh weather. The UL-approved HelioFuse is designed for rapid removal and replacement with minimal system downtime should a ground fault occur.
This molded
in-line fuse is fully intermateable with industry standard PV connectors. The IP68-rated HelioFuse is offered in two configurations, a connector version that plugs into an industry standard solar connector like the Helios H4 connector and a wire overmold version for custom harnesses.

he new Tempmaster PRO from Labfacility provides very high precision temperature measurement with Pt100 sensors. Resolution is 0.01oC and all computations are performed digitally without drift. There are two input ports for 3 or 4 wire Pt100 sensors; the instrument automatically recognises 3 or 4 wire configurations. Both inputs can be scanned and values logged according to parameters set up by the user in the PC software. A real-time clock and on-board memory are incorporated. Individual calibrated sensors can have up to 10 appropriate calibration values programmed into the Tempmaster PRO. The instrument then digitally self-calibrates to the associated probe over the range embraced in the calibrated values used; the temperature readout is “corrected” accordingly. The PC software which is supplied with the Tempmaster PRO allows remote control, measure and logging. Serial interface with the PC is via a USB connection. For more information and downloads, visit

BEKA publish Application Guide describing installation of Ex nA instrumentation
I BEKA Associates
n this new 26 page Application Guide AG310 the well known guru Chris Towle explains the philosophy of Zone 2 apparatus and how extra low voltage Ex nA certified instrumentation may be safely installed in these low
risk areas. Current ATEX and IECEx standards are discussed together with installation practice, constructional requirements, documentation and routine inspection. Of particular interest is the use of Ex nA certified apparatus with instruments using other protection techniques. Chris shows how an Ex nA loop powered indicator in Zone 2 may be used to monitor the output from a Zone 1 Ex d transmitter, simplifying installation and reducing cost. Although using BEKA 4/20mA loop powered indicators to illustrate recommended installation practice, the examples apply to most low voltage Ex nA apparatus.

Precision Fluid Dispensing Workstation Ultimus V
E
liminates variability by removing operator guesswork from the process.
The amount applied is determined by a combination of (1) air pressure, (2) dispense time and (3) tip size. To make identical dots or fill cavities with consistent volumes of material, the user adjusts air pressure to achieve the desired flow rate and then sets deposit size with the digital timer. For fluids that change viscosity, the Ultimus V high-precision dispenser can store and automatically adjust dispensing settings to keep the amount of fluid applied constant. Can be mounted on robot to automate the process

urrelektronik's active brake rectifiers make connecting DC brakes easier. Now the contactor and rectifier modules are combined! So far, brake components were installed separately: in the control cabinet and on the terminal board of the motor. Now, with Murrelektronik’s active brake rectifiers, they are included in one compact component. The DC brakes are controlled directly from the control cabinet. And thanks to the integrated semiconductor switch, they never require maintenance. The active brake rectifiers receive a signal from the PLC via a 24 V DC control input. A semiconductor switch, which never wears out, controls the rectified output voltage of the brake. In the initial state the DC brake is mechanically closed, and then is released when the magnetic coils are activated. Approved mains voltages from 230 to 480 V AC make Murrelektronik brake rectifiers suitable for various applications. They also have UL approval which ensures they can be used worldwide. The active brake rectifier can be installed easily thanks to the pluggable spring clamp terminals. Pluggable components for the control input and output voltage enable quick and safe installation.

he improved price-performance-ratio optris CSmicro supports the integration of the devices within OEM solutions and the simultaneous operation of the measurement devices at several infrared measuring
points. The usage of the compact pyrometers within the automation area is versatile. The infrared thermometers can be included within e.g. mobile paint dryers for temperature control or during laminating and welding process of plastic parts to ensure a constant process and quality monitoring. The innovative temperature sensors cover a temperature range from -40°C to 1600°C and are available with an innovative LED display. The display at the seperate electronic serves as a target help for the sensor adjustment as well as to show the condition of the pyrometer (e.g. overheating of the sensor). Additionally, a visual alarm can take place parallel to the new alarm output at the device (open collector). A temperature code indication completes the innovative concept.
