Any way you shake it, you can make your voice heard by the cooperative’s management and trustees. “Because some members expressed they were contacted too often, we changed the member satisfaction survey to twice a year instead of four times a year,” Zac Perkins, vice president-Corporate Services said. “This is just one example of the cooperative listening to feedback from our members.” Another example of the cooperative looking out for its members by being

innovative and member focused is the availability of the new Pay As You Go program as a payment option. “Pay As You Go has been a long time coming for our members,” Zac


Perkins said. “This program allows members to pay up front for their electricity instead of after the energy is already used. Research has shown consumers on similar prepaid metering programs use up to 15 percent less energy than before they were on the program, simply because they’re more closely managing their energy use. That means more money in the member’s pocket. “Another advantage to Pay As You Go is that there are no late fees, deposits or collection charges when members are enrolled in the program,” Perkins said. Rates at Tri-County Electric are set to simply cover the cost of doing business, not generate profit for distant stockholders. That’s why, as a not- for-profit organization, we give money back to you in the form of capital credits when revenues exceed costs. You’ll learn more about the cooperative’s financials and the industry outlook in next month’s annual report. The cooperative even moved it’s annual meeting from a Friday in May to
