Products Valves & actuators ATEX-rated category 3 valve islands Proportional directional valves
Eaton Corporation has introduced its line of next generation proportional directional valves designed to provide integrated programmable control capabilities in sophisticated electro-hydraulic applications. The KBS series valves are designed to support both centralised and distributed axis
control architectures in high-performance applications including test simulation, blow molding, wind turbine control, metal forming, pulp and paper machinery and primary metals production. They feature programmable onboard electronics and integral spool linear voltage
ASCO Numatics’ Series 2005 valve islands with G3 electronics are now certified to ATEX cate- gory 3 zone 2-22 for explosive atmospheres, enabling the bene- fits of the G3 electronics to be applied to a wider range of instal- lations. When mounted in an IP65 or Ex a cabinet, the valves are certified II 3G Ex nA IIC T4 Gc X for gas and II 3D Ex t IIIC T85°C Dc IP65 X for dust. The Series 2005 valve islands offer increased intelligence in the form of new diagnostic functions and a graphic display in place of the usual LED indicators. The display supports plain language messaging of diagnostic information at both the module and communication node level.
An innovative clip design allows easy module removal/ replacement without dismantling the entire manifold. The ATEX certification covers 3/2-5/2-double 3/2 NC-NC-5/3 valves over a temperature range of -20°C < Ta < +46°C and a flow rate of 500 l/min. Each manifold can have up to 32 coils maximum with up to 16 coils energised simultaneously. Certification also covers the Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, DeviceNet and Profibus pro- tocols, round M23 and sub-D 37 multipin connector and 16 and 8 way digital and analogue input/ output modules. differential transformer (LVDT) sensors to provide precise, accurate, responsive axis control capabilities. The initial products are offered in ISO-3 and ISO-5 sizes with rated flows of 40 LPM and 100 LPM (10.6 and 26.4 gpm) and maxi- mum flows of 75 lpm and 180 lpm (19.8 and 47.6 gpm) respectively. Dynamic bandwidth for the ISO-3 valves is 150 Hz and 100Hz for the larger ISO-5 mod- els. Both have 350 bar (5,075 psi) rated A- and B-ports and 250 bar (3,625 psi) rated T-ports.
