Art connects us to our hearts. When you experience that soul ache, you have found your art language. Striving to create art that spoke to her and others’ deepest levels led Amy McKenzie to study art at The University of Texas while majoring in Interior Design. She also studied under renowned portrait artist Kay Polk. Now primarily focused on abstract art in a variety of media, McKenzie explores different textures and palettes to create a visual feast for the eyes with each painting. Gaining inspira- tion from nature, she prefers a strong composition of neutral tones with pops of bright color. Accented with intuitive strokes of charcoal or pastel, her paint- ings resonate on a subconscious level. With patrons all over the country, art by Amy McKenzie has become more recognizable and more valuable to collectors. Complementing many interior styles, McKenzie’s paintings cre- ate a beautiful focal point and conversation piece, without dis- tracting from the overall design of a space. View her artwork in person at Kerr Collection in the Dallas Design District or contact her directly for availability of ex- isting paintings or custom com- mission work. Happy to work with clients directly or through their designers, McKenzie uses fabric or paint swatches to perfectly harmonize her art with your overall design scheme.
