Resolutions to promote and protect value and benefi ts of membership passed by USCA Board

in their fi rst two years of membership. T e second action aims to direct the benefi ts of the collective national curling community eff orts only to those who are dues-paying members. T e resolutions are as follows: Resolution #1: APPROVED: T at the United States Curling Association


adopt a multi-tiered dues structure for new Member Clubs. Under this structure Clubs granted Provisional Membership status prior to January 31 of any USCA fi scal year (beginning with FY2016-17) and those Clubs in the fi rst USCA fi scal year aſt er being voted into Full Membership will pay 1/3 of the total for each dues category. T e following USCA fi scal year these clubs will pay 2/3 of the total for each dues category. Full dues will be required thereaſt er. Resolution #2: APPROVED: Whereas: T e USCA is a member organiza-


tion to support and encourage the growth of curling. T e USCA is made up of clubs, states and regions to provide leadership and strategic membership benefi ts for the betterment and benefi t of all dues paying members. T erefore: T e USCA will only promote dues paying members, clubs,


states and regions. In addition, the USCA will continue to foster growth and promote the value and benefi ts to those clubs that have applied for membership. T erefore: T e Board, staff , coaches and HP athletes will not support, encourage or attend any functions or events (including but not limited to

their elected leaders, set the strategic direction of the USCA and then ben- efi t from the programs and services delivered to achieve that direction,” said Rich Lepping, Chairman of the USCA Board of Directors. “T e USCA members who are invested in the continued growth and development of the sport in this country deserve to have the value and benefi ts of membership reserved for those who are supporting the common cause.” “T ere are numerous groups of curlers around the country – many of


which were aided in their development directly by other curlers and USCA members – that either have not yet joined or have chosen not to become part of the national curling community,” Lepping continued. “We welcome all curlers, and the stepped-in membership program approved by the Board is another way in which we are trying to help new clubs get their footing on the way to a successful business. In the true Spirit of Curling, we need to continue to join together to ensure the future vitality of this sport in the United States.”
