on Nov. 8 at the eight-sheet club in Wausau, fea- tured 14 athletes from across the United States. Te team was selected by national coaches Steve Brown (Madison, Wis.) and Rusty Schieber (Por- tage, Wis.); Marc Deperno (New Hartford, N.Y.), team leader; and Anthony Colacchio (Falmouth, Mass.), Cape Cod Curling Club’s wheelchair curling program director. Te athletes will take part in upcoming com-


petitions in Canada and the U.S., as well as a high performance camp in January in Tempe, Ariz., at the Coyotes Curling Club. Aſter this camp, the final five athletes will be


named to Team USA for the 2016 World Wheel- chair Championship, which will take place Feb.

// IN MEMORIAM Patricia “Pat” Pfiffner Patricia “Pat” Pfiffner, 88, died Sept. 18, 2015, // COCKY ROCKY COMIC STRIP


in Madison, Wis. Pat and her husband of 65 years, the late David Pfiffner, were charter mem- bers of the Stevens Point Curling Club in 1959- 60. Pat delivered the very first stone aſter the club opened. In 1965, Pat and Dave moved to North- brook, Ill., where they were long-time stalwarts at the North Shore Curling Club. Pat was presi- dent of the Stevens Point Pipers and North Shore Lassies, while Dave was a former USCA director. Pat was a past USWCA national bonspiel winner. Survivors include children, Dennis (Debo-


rah), Michael (Star) and Pamela; and six grand- children. Memorials may be made to the U.S. Women’s
