Compact Pick-Up Turning Machine VL 2 vertical pick up turning machine is designed for automated, high-precision pro-


duction and low component costs in manufacturing small chucked components. Typical applications include small gearwheels, planetary gears, sliding sleeves, pump components, synchronizer rings, chain gears, or fl ange components. Parts with a maximum diameter of 100 mm and a length of up to 150 mm are machined on the small space-saving, vertical pick-up lathe with great effi ciency. The machine provides a variety of manufacturing technologies for soft and hard machining and a complete automation system. The pick-up spindle ensures that the machine loads and unloads itself, picking up raw parts and returning fi nished machined components to the conveyor belt. Presto Black is a short 15-minute process that eliminates the hazards of the hot oxide process by operating at room temperature of 70° (21°C). It provides high corrosion resistance and is tested for up to 800 hours humidity exposure when sealed with an ap- propriate rust preventive. Milling Chuck Eliminates HRSA Pullout Mega Perfect Grip from BIG Daishowa eliminates end mill pullout under heavy torque loads in milling heat resistant super alloys (HRSA). With fully concentric clamping, the Mega Perfect Grip combines the accuracy and cutting performance of heavy-duty milling chucks with the security against pullout of solid side-lock tool holders. The concept is rather simple, and assembly is quick. To keep the system cost-effective, it is based around milling cutters with a standard Weldon fl at (ASME B94.19-1997). No special grinding or threading of the milling cutter is required. The Mega Perfect Grip is available in BIG-PLUS BCV50 and HSK-A100 for Ø.750–1.250” (19–31.75 mm), and HSK-A125 for Ø1.000" (25.4 mm) and 1.250" (31.75 mm). The three key grip grooves in the chuck body also serve to provide channels for high-volume coolant to reach the cutter, which is required in milling HRSAs to dissipate heat and to remove chips effi ciently.
