Autumn Turner per- forms Donna Summer’s hit song “Last Dance” on NBC’s show “The Voice.” Although all four judges turned their chairs for her performance, Turner joined Alicia Keys’ team. She was ultimately stolen to “Team Adam” by Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine before being eliminated from the show in April. Turner began skating at age 3, competed until age 13 and started coaching at age 16, most recently with Team Edge in West Orange, New Jersey.

Coughlin elected to inaugural ISU Athletes Commission

John Coughlin, a U.S. Figure Skating

Athlete Advisory Committee member since 2007, has been elected as the singles and pairs skating representative to the inaugural ISU Athletes Commission. Coughlin was elected by the athletes competing at the 2017 ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Helsinki. As a member of the Athletes Commis-

sion, which represents athletes’ views and reports concerns to the ISU, Coughlin also becomes a member of the ISU Singles and Pairs Technical Committee. “I am truly honored to represent the singles and pairs athletes of this great sport,” Coughlin said in Helsinki. “I also appreciate the ISU’s leadership and the opportunity to contribute to the sport on such an important level.” Coughlin received 29 of the 74 votes cast in the singles and pairs election, edg- ing out the Czech Republic’s Tomas Verner, who received 23 votes. Also elected to the five-member commission are Alper Uçar of Turkey (ice dance), Nathalie Lindqvist of Sweden (synchronized skating), Luiza Zlotkowska of Poland (speed skating) and Viktor Knoch of Hungary (short-track

speedskating). A two-time ISU Congressional dele-

gate, Coughlin, 31, was a member of the 2016 working group that drafted the ISU Athletes Commission charter. A current member of the U.S. Figure Skating Board of Directors, Coughlin also serves on U.S. Figure Skating’s International Committee, Sports Science and Medicine Committee, Coaches Committee and Judges Commit- tee.

A native of Kansas City, Coughlin is a

two-time U.S. pairs champion (2011–12) and a two-time U.S. World Team mem- ber (2011–12) who last competed in the 2013–14 season. A professional skater, Coughlin is an NBC television and icenet- work analyst. Coughlin joins Patricia St. Peter (ISU

Council), Shawn Rettstatt (ISU Ice Dance Technical Committee) and Lois Long (ISU Synchronized Skating Technical Commit- tee), the other U.S. Figure Skating officials who hold elected ISU positions.
