2017 WORLD SYNCHRONIZED SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS
A VIEW FROM THE TOP
When the world’s best synchronized skating teams descended on Colorado Springs, the crowds followed — including some members of Team USA. Some skaters came to enjoy being spectators, while others helped out on the other side of the boards. After a whirlwind of competition, here’s what Team USA had to say about being at the 2017 World Synchronized Skating Championships.
ALEXA SCIMECA KNIERIM AND CHRIS KNIERIM — Alexa: “I’ve never seen a crowd so excited at a figure skating event before. They were on their feet for Team USA, chanting and cheering and it was really exciting.”
TARAH KAYNE — “As a pairs skater, being in sync with my partner and having that teamwork is a huge part of my career and skating with Danny (O’Shea). So watching the skaters work together in such a large group is so impressive.”
MAX AARON — “The Crystallettes put their hearts on the line and they looked great. I really enjoyed their performance. It was really heartfelt.”
JASON BROWN — “One of the greatest things about these synchro events is how spirited the crowd is. It’s just incredible to see people from all over the world. They come out decked in the colors of their countries and it’s amazing.”
JOSH FARRIS — “It was inspiring seeing how much, especially the U.S. teams, were enjoying their programs and performing them for the audience. Go Team USA!”
