American Volleyball Coaches Associa- tion Second-Team All-American (2008, 2009) after being selected to the third team as a sophomore in 2007. She fin- ished her collegiate career as Washing- ton’s all-time leader in digs (2,382) and digs per set (5.36). She was twice named National De-
fensive Player of the Year by Volleyball Magazine. Off the court, Miyashiro was
elected by her peers in indoor, beach and sitting volleyball to serve as USA Volleyball’s representative to the United States Olympic Committee’s Athletes’ Advisory Council (AAC) for the 2017- 2020 quadrennial last year but will need to relinquish the role now that she is a paid employee of the national governing body.

Ohio State’s Pete Hanson reaches 1,000 milestone Ohio State’s Men’s Volleyball Coach
Pete Hanson made his 1,000th career match at the helm of the Buckeyes a memorable one. Hanson, who led Ohio State to the national title in 2016, watched his Buckeyes hand rival Lewis a 25-22, 25- 23, 23-25, 14-15, 16-14 victory on their opponents home floor on March 18. Ohio State, which will host the

The Buckeyes were also picked No. 1 by the AVCA coaches to start the seasons. The Buckeyes won 21 of their first 22 matches, which lifted Hanson’s record to 666-334 in his first 1,000 matches. Ohio State (25-2), Long Beach State
(25-3), Brigham Young (21-3) and Ha- waii (22-4) have the best records in col- lege volleyball nearing the postseason.
