land, Michigan) and PHB Inc. (Fairview, Pennsylvania) have made a joint visit to a high-tech and high-end electronics OEM to discuss the topic of thin-wall aluminum castings. For this joint discussion, BuhlerPrince described all the technical as- pects, limitations and potential new breakthroughs. PHB also highlighted its knowledge of how to design these parts, work with simulation software, design the dies and to successfully run these aluminum parts in mass production and test for critical attributes and requirements.


Bondshold announced the


acquisition of Bradken UK’s 22-acre metalcasting and machin- ing facility in Scunthorpe, England. According to local reports, the 65 employees of the facility will transfer to the new business called Bonds Heavy Castings. Reports said Bondshold has been supported by the local government in the pur- chase of the Scunthorpe facilities with a development grant from the British Steel Support Fund.


Baker Furnace (Yorba Lin- dam California) announced the shipment of an Electric Oxidiz- ing Oven for the nuclear energy industry. Te oxidizing oven will heat treat Inconel support trays that are used to hold nuclear fuel cell rods in place. Te heat treating process provided by the industrial oven will extend the life of the trays and reduce production costs.
