Indiana Metalcaster Ships First Stainless Steel Castings Harrison Steel Castings Com-

Te new offering is a part of the steel caster’s strategic planning that includes expanding the markets it serves. “We are pleased to announce that Harrison Steel has successfully produced and shipped our first three stainless steel castings,” said Shawn Martin, metallurgist. “Te casting sizes range from 780 lbs. to 5,015 lbs. and support products in the oil and gas industries. Metalcaster Tops 2M Hours Without Lost Time Injury

Longview, Texas, passed two mil- lion hours without a lost time in- jury September 15. Te facility, which produces steel castings from 10-4,500 lbs., implemented a safety program in 2010 that focused on a team approach to safety and rewarded employees for performance. Since the realization of the new plan, Southwest Steel has received the Steel Founder’s Society of America award and been named a top- five company in the OSHA-appointed industry code. “Tis accomplishment is a testa- ment to the great people we have working at Southwest,” said Harry Phillips, Southwest Steel president. “When you really think about the processes at this facility—pouring molten metal, welding operations, cut- ting operations, grinding operations— I think you can appreciate just how much this accomplishment means to us. I am very proud of each employee.” Southwest Steel Casting Co. is a
