Yankee Casting Looking to Rebuild
Yankee Casting (Enfield, Connecti- cut) is looking to restore its facility after a March fire. According to the Journal-Inquirer, about 15,000 sq. ft. of the building was destroyed, but the company is now planning for an addition of 20,160 sq. ft. Te report said Yankee presented its plan to an area commission for ap- proval in November and was unani- mously approved. Yankee is a nonferrous sand caster
that produces castings for aerospace companies. It was founded in 1961, and the facility has had several addi- tions over that time. “We’re wondering when the shov-
els will hit the ground,” Tim Vecchi- arelli, co-owner and secretary, said according to the Journal-Inquirer. “It should start soon.”
