High School Freshman Wins Chapter Casting Contest Will Cosso, freshman at Don Bosco Technical Institute,
Rosemead, Calif., recently won fi rst place in the AFS Southern California Chapter’s annual casting contest. Cosso won for his sprinkler wrench casting and was one
of three winners from Bosco Technical Institute. Zachary Lugo and James Huerta took second and third place in the competition. AFS encourages chapters and businesses to reach out to students and give them the opportunity to see met- alcasting up close.
AFS Issues Call for Papers for
120th Metalcasting Congress AFS has issued a call for papers for its 120th
Metalcasting
Congress to be held jointly with CastExpo’16, April 16-19, 2016, in Minneapolis. AFS is seeking technical papers and presentations
covering all issues relating to metalcasting, diecasting and management and operations, including unique in- plant procedures, new technologies, equipment, products and other innovations that have contributed to enhanced metalcasting productivity and quality. Technical paper abstracts are due Aug. 15 and complete
