Future Die Cast and Engineering Continues Expansion Future Die Cast and En-

gineering (Shelby Township, Michigan) has acquired Smith- field Manufacturing (Clarksville, Michigan) and the Clinton Township, Michigan-based Con- ner Engineering. Formed in 1990, Future Die Cast also owns V-Line Precision Products (Walled Lake, Michigan) and Algonac Cast Products (Algo- nac, Michigan). Future Die Cast is a high-

pressure diecaster and aluminum sandcaster. “FDC has been able to

achieve this reputation largely due to the fact that FDC is fully-integrated,” the company said in a news release, according to the Leaf-Chronicle. “FDC has the ability to design and build all of their own high-pressure die- cast dies, along with the ability to cast and machine the castings that are produced from these dies. All of this is done between two locations a block away from each other. FDC currently utiliz- es many engineering disciplines for the design and build of its products: 3D modeling, X-Ray, CMM layout, EKK mold flow analysis, reverse engineering and many more.” According to the Leaf-

Chronice, the additions mean Future Die Cast’s footprint is over 245,000 sq. ft. Future Die Cast also offers in-house design and building of diecast tooling and the making of sandcast patterns. This includes in-house design and building of both high-pres- sure die-cast tooling and sand- cast pattern-making. “The addition of these two

companies will provide us with the unique capability of sup- plying our customers with the best aluminum cast components. We believe the synergistic ben- efits will create an efficient and cost-competitive offering for all of our valued customers,” said
