Shiloh Upgrades Aluminum Diecasting Plant in TN Shiloh Industries Inc., Valley City,
Ohio, has opened an aluminum diecast- ing plant in Clarksville, Tenn. T e light- weighting, noise and vibration products supplier bought the site in August 2013. T e company estimates it will invest
more than $20 million and add 150 jobs at the plant in the next fi ve years. T e facility is about 125,000 sq. ft. and one of Shiloh’s fi ve large tonnage, high pressure diecasting facilities in the U.S. “Shiloh has received strong demand for our industry-leading portfolio of
lightweighting solutions,” said Ramzi Hermiz, president and CEO. “We are in- vesting and expanding our operations to meet customer demand, and are continu- ally focused on leading with technology to develop products and solutions that address industry pinch points.” Shiloh has upgraded the quality
lab, diecasting cells, X-ray systems and employee facilities. T e plant also is ex- panding its range of 1,600-ton diecasting machines to include a 2,500-ton machine and infrastructure improvements.
Grede Launches IPO Plymouth, Mich.-based Metaldyne
Performance Group Inc. (MPG), the holding company of Grede Holdings LLC, Southfi eld, Mich., announced pricing of an initial public off ering (IPO) of 10 million shares of common stock. “T e IPO will further strengthen MPG and Grede’s position as leaders in the metal-forming industry,” said Doug Grimm, CEO of Grede and copresident, MPG. “T is public of- fering will provide us with additional fl exibility to raise capital in the future to serve our customers and continue to expand our business.” Grede manufactures cast, machined and assembled components for the light and commercial vehicle and industrial end markets. It develops and produces lightweight, ultra-high- strength cast ductile iron components for automotive and commercial vehicle chassis and powertrain applications. MPG, which is majority-owned by
private equity fi rm American Securities LLC, provides engineered components for use in powertrain and safety-critical platforms for the global light, commer- cial and industrial vehicle markets. Grede Holdings LLC has 4,600
employees and operates 14 foundries and three machining operations in North America serving the transporta- tion and industrial markets globally.
U.S. Pipe and Foundry Acquires Metalfi t Birmingham, Ala.-based U.S.
Pipe and Foundry Co. has com- pleted its acquisition of Metalfit Inc., Monterrey, Mexico. Metalfit manufactures waterworks fittings and industrial castings, and like U.S. Pipe, primarily serves the water and wastewater industries. “With the addition of Metalfit,
we can offer our customers a broad- er range of products and services from a more diversified footprint. I look forward to improved quality and customer service by sourcing our proprietary fittings from Metal- fit’s modern manufacturing facility in Monterrey,” said Paul Ciolino, CEO, U.S. Pipe.
