back talk
St. David’s South Austin Medical Center Chief Medical Oficer ALBERT GROS, MD, is the proud owner of a 1971 Plymouth GTX — one of only 2,942 made that year. He poured blood, sweat, and tears into restoring the rare muscle car after purchasing it in 2003. “Part of the fun is researching the ins and outs of the car. I’ve had to make calls all over the country to find rare or hard-to-find parts. I had a dickens of a time finding a seat-back for the car. It’s like a treasure hunt,” he said. In the fall when the weather is nice, Dr. Gros
likes to take his “toy” to car shows in Buda. “The car turns heads. Everyone stops to look and listen. It has even won a few trophies in some judged car shows,” he said.
