WHAT YOUR DOLLARS SUPPORT The MOAA Military Family Initiative (MMFI), a 501(c)(3) subsidiary foundation of MOAA, funds MOAA military family programs serving the entire uniformed service community. We focus on four areas of vital military family and veteran need aligned with areas of particular MOAA national and local expertise: • Career transition • Professional education outreach • Military spouse professional development • Community outreach


A COMBINED TEAM In 2017, following two very successful start-up years, the MMFI hopes to begin providing meaningful sup-

port to selected MOAA council and chapter com- munity programs while expanding the scope and outreach of MOAA national programs in a way that invites MOAA council and chapter participation and offers real benefits to them. For example, in 2017 the MMFI will launch the MOAA Community Outreach grant program, whereby the MMFI will provide grants to MOAA councils or chapters par- ticipating in community programs providing direct support to local military families. This program will be funded, in part, by MOAA member contributions.
