Bing Crosby Was a Golfer Who Sang Summer Read

egendary entertainer and part- time Pebble Beach resident Bing

Crosby was just as huge an icon on the golf course as the stage. A member of over 75 clubs

worldwide, Crosby’s idea of bringing together golf professionals and movers-and-shakers from Hollywood and the business world for a pro-am in part landed him in the World Golf Hall of Fame. In the recently released memoir

18 Holes With Bing: Golf, Life and Lessons From Dad, Crosby’s son, Nathaniel, teams with Golf Digest’s John Strege to give us a fascinating look at the man who founded what is today the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Nathaniel, who won NCGA

Player of the Year honors in 1981 thanks to his win at the U.S. Ama- teur, pays tribute to his father in 18 enlightening segments, shedding light on the perception of Bing the singer, and describing how he was, to Nathaniel and many others alike, Bing the golfer. Full of anecdotes, vignettes and

recollections of Bing’s time on the course, the tournaments he created and later sponsored and the constant encouragement he showed his son, 18 Holes With Bing honors this celebrated golfer, entertainer and father and illuminates his life as never before.
