11.  SIGHTSEEING IN HO CHI MINH CITY Sightseeing of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon) begins at the Reunification Palace, once the symbol of the South Vietnam government, and the Jade Emperor Pagoda. It continues on a drive past the Saigon Opera House, the Caravelle and Rex hotels to lively Ben Thanh Market. At the Bitexco Financial Tower, head up to the observation deck for great views. Join us for a farewell dinner tonight. Meals BLD

12. MEKONG DELTA OR CU CHI TUNNELS Disembark ship this morning for an overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City. A choice of shore excursions sheds light on daily life in rural Vietnam. Enjoy a fascinating motorboat cruise along the Mekong Delta, known as “the rice bowl of Vietnam”; visit Cai Be floating market and see villagers whose livelihood is inextricably linked to the river and land. Alternatively, visit Cu Chi Tunnels, constructed to shelter Viet Cong guerrillas during wartime. Although incomprehensible to imagine how anyone could exist in these underground hiding places, the Cu Chi tunnels grew to house entire “villages,” with living quarters, kitchens, factories, hospitals and bomb shelters, living undeterred by the endless firefights and combat that raged above. Everyone gets together for a farewell dinner tonight at a local restaurant before our journey ends tomorrow. Meals BD

13. JOURNEY HOME Tour Ends: Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Fly home anytime. A transfer is included from Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers to Ho Chi Minh City’s International Airport. You should allow a minimum of three hours for flight check-in. Meals B
