New public transport facilities available


What would you say to quick and easy transfers between the Ylläs area, air- ports and train stations? And how about being able to pay all your bus tickets and entry fees in advance? T is vision will soon become rea-


lity. Developed last winter, the ‘Ylläs Around’ smartphone navigator app can plan your trips, providing both timetables and transport alternatives. Launched this season, the ‘Ylläs Tiketti’ app off ers instant tickets that you can validate by scanning the QR code in your phone. Ylläs Tiketti includes improved fea-


tures absent from last winter’s pilot version of Ylläs Around. Although both apps are still being tested, these features will be rolled into one application in the future. Taking its place alongside Ylläs


Around and Ylläs Tiketti, the Fin- nish Taxi Federation’s ‘Valopilkku’ application was launched at Ylläs last March. T is app locates the customer and displays the taxi’s ETA (estimated time of arrival) and number, which you can check against the number marked on the yellow roof light. T e app will also notify the customer when the taxi arrives, and can track its progress with a sat nav map feature.

Don’t forget ‘Ylläs Aurora’, the original Northern Lights application. T e Ylläs Aurora app tells you where the Northern Lights can be seen! All app users will get a notifi cation when


users report seeing the Northern Lights around Ylläs. T e Ylläs Aurora app costs 2.99 euros, and is available for iPhone, Android and Windows smartphones.


Ylläs Shuttle – easy way to travel between the two villages of Ylläs


T e Ylläs Shuttle service runs between Ylläsjärvi and Äkäslompolo.
