ARTICLE 12 OF THESE RIGHTS SAYS THAT YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO AN OPINION AND FOR IT TO BE LISTENED TO AND TAKEN SERIOUSLY.

We want to ensure a fair representation of young people within our participation structure. By removing barriers, North Ayrshire will have full representation from young people with a variety of personal circumstances and backgrounds.

Through the Single Outcome Agreement, an agreement to plan how we can improve the lives of North Ayrshire residents, both local and national government are committed to ensuring young people are able to participate in society to the fullest extent possible.

“As an MSYP the Youth Council allows me to engage with young people and take issues of North Ayrshire to a national level. Young people are not just the future we are the present and it’s vital that young people play a central role in shaping their communities and country.” Erin McAuley - MSYP Cunninghame South
