BRITISH YOUTH COUNCIL Two young people represent North Ayrshire on the British Youth Council. They attend meetings and take forward the views of their peers so issues can be discussed at a national level.
SCOTTISH YOUTH PARLIAMENT North Ayrshire has four young people who represent Cunninghame North (covering Garnock Valley, Largs and North Shore, Arran, Cumbrae, Ardrossan, Saltcoats and parts of Stevenston) and Cunninghame South (covering Irvine and surrounding areas, Kilwinning, and parts of Stevenston) at the Scottish Youth Parliament. These members act as a contact for information and debate between the Scottish Youth Parliament and North Ayrshire Youth Council.
LGBT NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL North Ayrshire’s local LGBTQI group has two young people who are members of the LGBT National Youth Council. Members, Champions and Elders (all aged 13-25 years) represent LGBTQI young people from their local area and focus on getting all Scotland’s LGBTQI young people’s voices heard at all levels.
