COLLETT CONTROVERSIAL

graduate who probably thought a swing tag was something in a sex club and a price gun had to have a licence! It’s not good for business, it can’t be. All I have done is put a good “December” day of trading on my November fi gures, and it’s left the consumer wary of any deals I will have in the future as they Google every price going. Going through the books, we put a fair wedge on, and the till was ringing, but having a look at the margins properly, I would have probably been better off having Bill and Ted come in for half a pint of maggots at full price

and been done with it. Six months in the planning and for what? A bit of turnover? Turnover is vanity. Profi ts are where it’s at! What it has left though is a number of hilarious Youtube videos of tackle dealers pretending to be TV presenters as they knock sixpence off a tub of swan shot, all fi lmed on dodgy phones similar to an ISIS video. This is defi nitely one American import I wish had never arrived, give me a Hershey, black bass, and Taylor Swift any day, Black Friday, shove it up your “ASS” as they say. Have a nice day, Yall!

What’s your view on this most American of habits? We know of some BIG dealers that pretty much close down in November as they know that trade is so bad. They use their time to produce catalogues etc... food for thought? We’d love to hear your views on this subject, or anything else for that matter! Whether you agree or disagree, please drop us a line at:

informal name for the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, the fourth Thursday of November, which has been regarded as the beginning of the country’s Christmas shopping season since 1952.
