Chris O’Grady, a regular contributor to SGA Live and our print workshop expert, returned with his seminar focusing on product differentiation. Dispelling the myth


that the new world of digital is taking over and the medium of print is dying, Chris provided factual evidence that this is not the case. Chris spoke


passionately about why print is so special and how it offers so much more than an email or a digital version.


Using a case study


by the Professional Publishers Association Chris mentioned how Return on Investment is so much higher for printed advertisers comparing those figures to others from television and the internet. Chris showcased mechanical advertising options that publishers could offer to their advertisers e.g. belly bands, spread-markers and tip-ons just to name a few. Finishing options were


provided to our audience of publishers highlighting


different techniques that they could use within their own publication to make them have more shelf appeal and stand out from their competitors’ magazines. Chris’ parting words


to our SGA Live audience were, “ Print is definitely not dead. The world’s trusted medium has so much more to give.”
