EXECUTIVE HIRE SHOW REVIEW continued

Wider Shifta from Mace

Mace Industries showed its new Shifta 450 conveyor, a version of its Shifta 300 with a wider 450mm belt to transport greater volumes of material from work spaces such as basements. The company says it initially manufactured the unit as a ‘special’ and that subsequent demand has led to it being introduced to the range. Also new is a 6m variation of the Bumpa hoist that can be folded for easy transportation in the back of a vehicle, and which could appeal to some users as a

compact alternative option to the company’s fixed length conveyors. 01536 206600 www.maceindustries.co.uk

Dustcontrol opens the Box

Dustcontrol’s new DC Box resembles a fume cupboard with a built-in air cleaner for collecting potentially harmful dust when off-hired tools and equipment are being cleaned. The operation can be undertaken using an integral air gun and vacuum suction hose, with items being placed into the box via a door and sliding tray. Hand hole openings at the front allow the operator to handle the

equipment inside safely during the cleaning process, and

negative pressure inside the cabinet

means dust will not migrate

outside the

cabinet, the company says. Large particles and other waste drops into a plastic bag at the base, and an AirCube 500 is integrated into the system to filter the air inside before returning it to the work area.

SDMO gives more control

SDMO is shortly to introduce the option of Deep Sea or ComAp controllers for synchronising and load sharing on its Rental Compact generators of 100kVA and above, in addition to its own control panels. New on the stand was the Clear 1.7 water pump, a self-priming model with a two-stroke engine. It is designed to deliver a maximum flow of 110 litres per minute, to a height of up to 8m from a 2.5cm-diameter hose. The manufacturer also says it plans to introduce several new additions to its product line-up later this year.

Hatz targets emissions

Hatz showed a new canopied version of its 2-litre 4H50TIC diesel engine, a 4-cylinder water-cooled unit designed to achieve low emission levels without requiring a diesel particulate filter. It produces a maximum power output of 55kW and is fitted with a turbocharged intercooler. The enclosure reduces noise and the risk of water ingress, and the company has developed this variant to meet anticipated demand from manufacturers of machinery required for low emission zones that are being established in London and other cities.
