Boels buys Supply UK


Netherlands-based Boels Rental has acquired Supply UK Group for an undisclosed sum. Supply UK currently has 19 tool and equipment hire depots throughout the UK, as well as a specialist Survey & Laser division with six locations. It has 165 employees, all of whom have been retained. The business will be re-branded as Boels at a future date. Supply UK MD, Chris Haycocks, told EHN, “We have always been a


forward-looking business and Boels’ investment will enable us to accelerate our expansion and will lead the next phase of the company’s growth. It will allow us to offer an increasing selection of new equipment and to rejuvenate our geographical expansion, strategically infilling areas in our network. Boels is an ideal business


Banner acquires Premier


Sheffield-based Banner Plant Ltd has acquired Premier Plant and Tool Hire Ltd, which has two depots in Leicester. It offers a broad range of tools and plant and will provide a new operational location in the Midlands for Banner Plant, which has branches in Dronfield (Sheffield), Chesterfield, Derby,


Ardent orders more Ammann rollers


Ardent Hire Solutions has placed an order with A&Y Equipment for more than 100 new Ammann rollers in a deal said to be worth approximately £4m. These will be distributed across its network of 14 depots. The purchase encompasses a variety of machines, including trench


rollers, light tandem models and single drum self-propelled rollers. The trench rollers are the latest Rammax 1575 models which are remote- controlled and have an articulating and oscillating central joint for stability. Also included are three versions of ARX tandem rollers, ranging from the smallest 80cm drum width ARX12 and the 120cm ARX26, up to the ARX45 which is a 138cm-wide model.


GAP chooses Kubota


GAP has chosen Kubota as its sole supplier of excavators ranging from 0.8 to 8 tonnes. The hirer purchased 900 machines from the manufacturer last year, and says it will gradually replace other brands in its fleet with Kubota models. MD Iain Anderson said, “After purchasing such a huge


quantity of excavators last year, we felt this exclusive agreement would be immensely beneficial to both parties as we move forward. One feature of the machines that stands out is the power and strength of the engines. They are virtually bullet-proof and many of the other pieces of equipment we offer, such as dumpers, also run on Kubota diesel engines.”
