A new start for the New Year
As you start to plan the New Year, the time is right to commit to a programme of learning

Christmas is nearly upon us and another year is coming to an end. I hope you can look back, even with the
effects of Brexit and other world events, and say ‘I have had a really good year personally and professionally’.
A changing world The world always keeps on turning and new challenges continue to present themselves. I hope you share my enthusiasm for tackling these new challenges and in finding solutions. The credit profession is a great place to
work, if you can think outside the box. Unfortunately, some folk find it hard to step away sometimes from their day-to-day tasks and seek out those improvements. Also, to occasionally get away from the
office and meet up with their peers and enjoy learning.
Resolutions We all make New Year’s resolutions. A suggestion for next year: learn something new every month that will have an impact on you and your job. At Forums International, we have had
Future plans Our attention now turns to the new year. What have we got planned? We have learnt, over the years, that, unless we keep an eye on the forums, they do not move forward. Each of our forum groups has their own plan for the new year which includes delivering quality events and the subjects that members want, as well as attracting new members. a good year. We have run nearly 40 forum days. We have been to Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, and Warsaw, as well as many and various locations throughout the UK. It has also been good to welcome new members. We would
also like to thank our corporate partners for their continued support; plus our annual golf and archery tournament which was a great success. The only sad event was that Paul Hodgson, our international
business development manager, passed away; a good friend who will be missed. Next year, our charity will be Diabetes UK in his memory.

Action Protocol to mention just a few, there is no shortage of subjects to focus on, which will have an impact on business. Also, there is a flow of subjects put forward by the members, such as risk, collections, systems, people, and fraud. If you have not been to a forum meeting,
then initially watch some of the video testimonials on our web site. Or, better still, come along and see for yourself. It is free to attend that first meeting. On behalf of the team at Forums
International we would like to wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful and Successful New Year.
