Advanced Air
The next generation of pressure independent control systems has been announced by Advanced Air. The company has en- tered into a special agreement with Belimo and Advanced Air’s control specialist to design and develop a simple EPIV/Delta control pack- age. The EPIV/Delta means the fan coil unit can be pre-commissioned in the factory with the set points for water and airflow established and pre-set so there is no need for any on site commissioning. The unit is fully addressable from a hand held device where the unit can be easily checked to ascertain that the pre-set values are being achieved even without the BMS working. The LED screen on the hand held device shows the engineer what is hap- pening with the fan coil unit. If changes to the fan coil performance are re- quired the set points can easily be adjusted by the hand held device.

Condair
Condair is expanding its product portfolio with a range of advanced commercial and industrial dehumidifiers. The new Condair dehumidifier range comprehen-
sively covers both desiccant and condensing technologies with extensive standard capacities from 0.5kg/h to 182kg/h (@20°C/60%RH). Custom units are also available, which are capable of providing even greater de- humidification or operating under specific or extreme environmental condi- tions required by an application. Both desiccant and condensing dehumidifiers can be operated as stand-
alone systems, providing dry air directly to a room’s atmosphere, or at- tached to a duct network to distribute conditioned air to a wider area. Due to the extremely large capacities available in the Condair range, a single unit is often capable of serving a whole building.

Nortek
Nortek apprentice Amelia Flavell was awarded ap- prentice of the year at a recent McDonalds supplier event, which took place at the Metropole Hilton hotel in Birmingham. More than 200 people attended the event and Amelia was one of three who
were shortlisted for the award. She joined the company in September 2014 and quickly developed into main support for the finance manager. Amelia helped to develop key KPI’s such as weekly labour productivity, presentation of daily and monthly sales numbers that included the integration of the busi- ness in the UK. She has progressed exceptionally quickly since she started working for Nortek, beyond the usual expectations for an apprentice. Nortek invests heavily in its apprenticeship scheme and Amelia is one of four apprentices to have joined the company in the last two years.
